Thoughts and opinions on Data Product Owner roles?

Coming to this sub as I need some assistance in evaluating an opportunity. Essentially, a software startup that I have done consulting work for (writing PRDs and providing all of the finance related business requirements to get the software off the ground) has designed a role specifically for me.
