Can't a data scientist apply to data analysis roles?

I just graduated from a master's degree that doesn't exactly have "data science" in the name, but in which we took courses in machine learning, statistics, R programming, text mining, web scraping... and that is more oriented to social sciences. Previously I did take a diploma in data science, but it's just a diploma, not a degree.
