Is PhD/MSc in CS or AI a must to pursue CV job?

I'm a bit puzzled. I hold phd in physics. For last 3y I worked as a postdoc in the group that on daily basis works with high resolution microscopy and image analysis - segmentation, tracking, detection. We apply codes written in the house for such analysis, but we rarely publish any codes. After I finish I hope to pursue this path and I want to work in CV.
