What's your weapon of choice to generate synthetic imagery to train algorithms?

I understand that Coco has some limitation. What if you are working for a niche and you need more specific imagery with a large variety of weather, sensor defects, shades and stuff. How do you deal with that? And more importantly, how do you gather a significant amount of data with labels?
